Sometimes a project has a large number of one of the two most common size doors and a small number of taller or wider doors. In such a case, a custom minimum order of 350 units of the odd-sized Door Shields is usually not feasible. To accommodate these occasional taller and wider doors, we have developed two accessory products that make it possible to adapt either a 3070 or 3080 Door Shield to protect a taller or wider door. These two accessory products are referred to as The Extender (for wider doors) and The Suspender (for taller doors).

The Extender is constructed exactly like The Protector – two-ply corrugate with an anti-static and abrasion resistant inner liner and saddle tape to allow The Extender to hang from the top of the door. The Extender measures 2’6”x 8’0” and is perforated to separate in six-inch increments. The bottom of The Extender is perforated to allow removal to fit door heights of 7’10”, 7’6” and 7’0”. The Extender is installed on the hinge side of the door and secured to the door with the supplied hook-and-loop fasteners. Once The Extender is in place, the three-foot wide Door Shield Protector can be installed, butting up against The Extender and secured with hook-and-loop fasteners on the strike side of the door. The Protector and The Extender are then secured together using several short lengths of customer-supplied packing tape (or similar tape).  The Extender is packaged five per carton ( a total of 25 six-inch segments) and can be ordered in single carton quantities.
